Marlene Cran is a researcher in the Institute of Sustainable Industries and Liveable Cities at Victoria University. With expertise in polymer science, her projects are within the fields of polymer membranes for desalination and wastewater recovery and food packaging materials. Marlene’s packaging research include the use of natural antimicrobial agents in polymer films and biodegradable bio-composites for food packaging, and microencapsulation techniques to reduce losses of these agents during processing. She is an associate editor of the Journal of Plastic Film and Sheeting and an editorial board member of Foods and LWT-Food Science and Technology.
